Why don't they want her to be homeschool?

Add On: Before my cousin was home school she was really popular but she chosen to be homeschool.**Original:My cousin (she's 15) was telling me how when she tells some of our family members that she is home school (for about two years now) they all look at her as if she's crazy and say why do you want to be home school? And say mean things about being home school. Also when she tells random people that she knows, that she is home schooled they say that she won't be experienced with guys and girls and other things- she tells them all many times she goes places and does community sports and go to school events and make friends- even guys friends but they all still ignore that fact and say its wrong. Why is it?

Most people only listen to homeschooling mythology fed to them by school systems and the media, both of which are very anti-homeschool.

Every homeschooler has to deal with the kinds of comments your cousin is hearing. And they all learn to ignore it. People come around. Eventually.

People always think they know what's better for other people.  Her relatives think she's crazy, but let me guess, she probably thinks they're crazy and that their kids are tramps and social miscreants.  People think homeschoolers are this or that.  Homeschoolers think that kids who go to schools are this or that.  No different really.  You know what? Really accomplished people don't have time to put down others.
